program has a long and distinguished history in providing high quality, relevant business education to graduates with diverse backgrounds wishing to develop their skills and knowledge in business, as well as those who wish to broaden their undergraduate business degree. After extensive consultation with internal and external stakeholders, both international and domestic, the revised Master of Commerce emphasises industry and practical orientation to assist students in gaining general business knowledge and providing a transition to a business specialisation in a wide range of disciplines. Learning goals and associated learning outcomes for the Master of Commerce
Knowledge: Our graduates will have current disciplinary knowledge applicable in local and global contexts.

Note: It is recommended that you complete the course MGMT5050 Teams, Ethics and Competitive Advantage in your first semester in the MCom. MGMT5050 provides you with key organizational knowledge that informs the courses in the rest of your MCom. MGMT5050 also helps you develop better problem-solving skills, reflective thinking, teamwork skills, and analytical strategies that support you as you progress through your degree and then your career.

emphasises industry and practical orientation to assist students in gaining general business knowledge whilst still allowing for specialisation in a wide range of disciplines.The Master of Commerce (Extension) is designed with flexibility for graduate students who wish to transition from a non-commerce degree into a commerce/business discipline or who wish to transition from one discipline in a prior commerce degree to another.It provides students with a fundamental grounding in commerce/ allows students to pursue an in-depth study of the ensures students are equipped with a breadth and depth of generic and disciplinary knowledge and skills, which can be applied to a range of complex business problems an and allows students to place their disciplinary specialisation in the wider context of commercial activity. The MCom (Extension) allows students to enhance their MCom study by adding the equivalent of 4 additional courses (24 UOC) to the MCom. This choice may be used to complete a second minor specialisation by adding to the existing specialisation or to broaden the degree.Note: Students who commenced their MCom degree prior to 2013 should refer to the program structure for the year they commenced.
