　　BJ40的底盘隔音出色，同时，发动机舱有着较大的隔音棉，发动机传来的噪音也在合理的范围内，这对于一款越野车来说再好不过了，车辆行驶到100km/h时，发动机的转速只有2200转，来自发动机的噪音控制得当。不过遗憾的是，风噪的处理并不理想，车行至100km/h绝大部分的噪音都来自于风噪，呼呼的声音明显，甚至有一种驾驶BJ212的怀旧情节，这也和越野车的硬朗造型，风阻系数较大有关。
　　底盘方面，由于采用非承载式车身，车身重心较高，所以会给上下车带来一些不便。不过BJ40相对其它SUV来说，弯道的操控性能表现良好，五连杆非独立悬挂在必要的时刻起到了一定的车身支撑作用。尽管采用非承载式车身的车型，通过坑洼路面要比一般SUV更平稳舒适一些，但BJ40相对于同级非承载式车身对手来说，乘坐舒适性并不理想，颠簸对整个车身的冲击较大。并且后排乘客头枕较硬，舒适度大打折扣。
　　燃油经济性方面，在海拔4000多米满载负荷状态下，有少许坡道，70公里速度巡航，行车电脑平均油耗显示为10.5L/100km，在四驱低速模式，持续高转速爬陡坡，并接近海拔5000米，行车电脑油耗显示为20L/100km。
　　BJ40并不是一个样子货，而是真真切切，实实在在的越野车，即便是在西藏的泥泞道路，它也可以风雨无阻，带你一路前行。你可以卸下顶棚，带上女友尽情去享受两人的世界，也可以坐在后备厢宽大的平台上，享受你自己的自然世界，也可以让BJ40带着你去探索未知世界的神秘。BJ40还有改装型车型推出，对于喜好个性消费的消费者而言是好事。

正常行驶时，差速器不工作，四轮输出相同动力；一旦车辆的一只后轮在路面失去附着力，后轴左右会迅速产生轮速差，差速器中异形齿轮开始旋转。借助差速器异形行星齿轮的不等长齿结构，可将30%的驱动力传递到有附着力的车轮，使车辆成功脱困。
